I. Terms and Conditions

1. Eligibility for Rental:

  • Driver’s Age: The primary driver and any additional drivers must be at least 21 years old. Drivers aged 21-24 may be subject to a young driver surcharge.
  • Driver’s License: All drivers must possess a valid, unexpired driver’s license held for a minimum of two (2) years. International driving permits are required for non-Filipino license holders, along with their original national license.
  • Identification: A valid government-issued ID (e.g., passport, national ID) and proof of address are required at the time of rental.
  • Payment: A valid credit card in the primary driver’s name is required for payment and security deposit. Debit cards may be accepted for payment but not for the security deposit.

2. Rental Period:

  • The rental period begins at the time the vehicle is picked up and ends at the scheduled return time.
  • Any extension of the rental period must be approved by Anwar Rent a Car in advance and may be subject to additional charges.
  • Late returns without prior approval will be charged at the daily rate plus a late return fee.

3. Vehicle Use and Restrictions:

  • Authorized Drivers: Only drivers listed on the Rental Agreement are authorized to operate the vehicle.
  • Geographical Restrictions: Vehicles are permitted for use within Zamboanga City only. Travel outside this region without prior consent is prohibited, unless prior written consent to the Company. In case the Renter takes the Vehicle beyond the allowed area without consent, a penalty of PhP10,000 will be imposed.
  • Prohibited Uses: The vehicle shall not be used for:
  • Illegal purposes.
  • Towing or pushing any vehicle or object.
  • Races, rallies, or speed contests.
  • Driving on unpaved roads or off-road.
  • Transporting passengers for hire (unless explicitly agreed for specific services).
  • Subleasing the vehicle.
  • Transporting hazardous materials.
  • Smoking: Smoking is strictly prohibited inside all Anwar Rent a Car vehicles. A cleaning fee will be charged if evidence of smoking is found.
  • Pets: Pets are generally not allowed unless prior arrangement is made, and a cleaning fee may apply.

4. Fuel Policy:

  • The Renter is responsible for all fuel costs during the rental period and must ensure the fuel level is replenished to the amount recorded at the start of the rental.
  • If the vehicle is returned with less than the amount recorded at the start of the rental , the renter will be charged for the missing fuel at a premium rate, plus a refueling service charge.

5. Maintenance and Condition:

  • The renter is responsible for checking the vehicle’s oil and water levels, tire pressure, and general condition during the rental period.
  • Any mechanical issues or damage must be reported to Anwar Rent a Car immediately.
  • The vehicle must be returned in the same condition as received, reasonable wear and tear excepted.

6. Accidents and Breakdowns:

  • In the event of an accident, the renter must immediately notify Anwar Rent a Car and the local police. An accident report must be filed.
  • The Renter shall bear the cost of repairs, towing, and any associated medical expenses resulting from any accidents involving the Vehicle.
  • In case of a breakdown, contact Anwar Rent a Car for assistance. Unauthorized repairs are not permitted.

7. Insurance and Liability:

  • The Renter acknowledges that the Vehicle is covered by comprehensive insurance. However, the Renter will be responsible for covering any deductible charges or expenses as provided under the insurance policy.
  • Damage caused by negligence, violation of these terms, or driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs will void all insurance coverage, and the renter will be fully liable for all damages.

8. Security Deposit:

  • A security deposit will be held on the renter’s credit card at the time of pickup. The amount varies depending on the vehicle type.
  • This deposit covers potential damages, fuel charges, late return fees, cleaning fees, or traffic violations.
  • The deposit will be released within 7-14 business days after the vehicle’s return, provided no deductions are necessary.

9. Traffic Violations:

  • The renter is responsible for all traffic violations, parking fines, and tolls incurred during the rental period.
  • An administrative fee will be charged for processing and handling any such violations.

10. Personal Belongings:

  • Anwar Rent a Car is not responsible for any personal belongings left in the vehicle during or after the rental period

11. Governing Law:

  • These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines. Any disputes shall be settled in the courts of Zamboanga City .

II. Refund Policy

1. Cancellation Policy:

  • More than 48 hours before pickup: Full refund of the rental amount.
  • 24 to 48 hours before pickup: 50% refund of the rental amount.
  • Less than 24 hours before pickup or No-Show: No refund. The full rental amount will be charged.
  • Cancellations must be made in writing (email) or through our official booking portal.

2. Early Return:

  • No refunds will be issued for early returns of the vehicle. The renter is responsible for the full rental period as agreed upon in the Rental Agreement.

3. Vehicle Unavailability:

  • In the rare event that the reserved vehicle becomes unavailable due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., accident, mechanical failure), Anwar Rent a Car reserves the right to provide an alternative vehicle of similar or higher class at no additional cost.
  • If no suitable alternative is available, a full refund for the unfulfilled rental period will be issued.

4. Damage/Theft Deductions from Security Deposit:

  • In cases of damage or theft, the cost of repairs, replacement, or the applicable insurance excess (deductible) will be deducted from the security deposit.
  • If the costs exceed the security deposit, the renter is liable for the remaining balance.
  • Any remaining balance of the security deposit, after deductions, will be refunded within 7-14 business days.

5. Cleaning Fees:

  • If the vehicle requires excessive cleaning (e.g., due to smoking, pet hair, significant spills), a cleaning fee will be deducted from the security deposit.

6. Processing Refunds:

  • All eligible refunds will be processed back to the original payment method used for the booking.
  • Please allow 7-14 business days for the refund to reflect in your account, depending on your bank’s processing times.
